Drive of a lifetime awaits successful bidder

Milwaukee, Wis. – June 18, 2018 – Who wants to be a passenger in a classic vehicle driven by Donald Osborne, acclaimed appraiser and TV star who appears on Jay Leno’s Garage on CNBC? Osborne will drive the special vehicle in the Motor Tour on Saturday morning, Aug. 4, as part of the weekend of activities associated with the 2018 Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance.

The Motor Tour, featuring vehicles that will be part of the judged concours competition on Sunday, Aug. 5 during the 2018 Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance, will depart at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 4 from Veterans Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront and tour in a follow-the-leader style to Wingspread in Wind Point (Racine). Lunch will follow at the Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine.

The silent auction is one of the primary fundraisers for the Milwaukee Concours d’Elegance which donates proceeds from the weekend activities to three local charities: Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and Meta House.

Items are welcome to be added to the auction offerings, according to Cana Comer, chair of the auction. Items of interest include:

  • Alcohol/Craft Beers/Wine
  • Air travel
  • Vacation/Lodging getaways
  • Hotel gift certificates (Wisconsin or major 4-star chains)
  • Car-related services (detailing package, wheel repair, etc.)
  • Car-related products (cleaners, waxes, etc.)
  • Car-related books signed by author
  • Art (paintings, prints or photography), particularly car-related
  • Sailing or fishing on Lake Michigan
  • Restaurant or retail gift packages
  • Personal chef-prepared dinner at home or chef’s table
